2022 Postgraduate Course in DSD

The first postgraduate course in DSD was held in Bern just prior to the I-DSD symposium. 22 attendees from the fields of counselling, paediatric endocrinology, genetics, gynaecology, psychology, basic science and surgery enjoyed learning and interacting with the faculty of 17 experts in the field of DSD. Attendees came from 14 countries across the world, encompassing 5 continents. Sessions included talks on approaches to DSD management, the aetiology of DSD and investigations for people with suspected DSD conditions across the lifespan. All attendees had the opportunity to present cases to the group, with a wide range of different conditions discussed and interesting discussions generated. It was not all work, with some enjoyable social events including an organised walk of the city of Bern and some delicious post-course meals. All attendees agreed that the course was an excellent opportunity to enhance knowledge about DSD, whilst also networking and collaborating with colleagues with similar interests from across the world. Feedback from the course was very positive. The next course will be held face-to-face in 2024 prior to the 10th I-DSD symposium.
